Have you not yet visited Kleftiko, the cave of Sykia, Cape Vani or even the island of Poliegos? Do you want to swim in the crystal clear waters of the bay of Gerakas and the beach of Gerontas? You are in the right place!

We went to Milos almost exclusively for its impressive beaches.

The fact that some are not even accessible by car - but only by boat or boat, made us even more interested. We knew of course that Milos is a very touristic island, which implies on the one hand many tourists and on the other hand high prices. So we chose to explore it in early September, a month that we love a lot and "travel".
We only stayed three days (instead of three and a half!). This period alone is not enough to get a complete picture of the island at a leisurely pace. If you also have a few days at your disposal, read our suggestions to move "smartly" and enjoy the beautiful Milos.

Visit Sarakiniko
What makes Sarakiniko special is its huge, white, volcanic rocks. You walk and feel like you are on the Moon, this place is so impressive! Sarakiniko is mainly suitable for you to see and be photographed, when there is no air!

Acquaintance with the Wires in Firopotamos
The Wires are colored low houses that fishermen used to use to store their boats. Each house has a different color because the fishermen had to distinguish their house from afar by returning to it, early in the morning. Of course, these houses in Milos were also their permanent place of residence.

Food in Medusa in Mandrakia
When you are in the northern part of the island, ie near Sarakiniko and Firopotamos, you should not miss Mandrakia. Another very picturesque fishing village with Wires that is worth discovering and honoring the only cafe-restaurant that exists there. "Medusa" is a proposal because there you can gaze at the sea in peace, enjoying perfect fish jellyfish!

Fyriplaka and Tsigrado
And after a wandering in the northern part of Milos, the southern and the epic beaches of Fyriplaka and Tsigrado are in order. These are two beaches within walking distance from each other, with different "graces". You will go to the very shallow and sandy Fyriplaka to enjoy swimming and you also have the choice to move either in its organized part or in the disorganized part, the one we chose. A huge rock with the sea mentally separates the two parts of the beach, while if you are lucky or you go early in the morning you can achieve natural shading under a rock. In Tsigrado, to access the beach you have two ways: either to go down (always at your own risk!) catching a "rope", or by kayak from Fyriplaka beach (costs 20 euros for an hour).

Sunset in Plaka - Milos
For the end we left Klima, the fishing village with the colorful houses (the Wires) that you feel like being transported to another era. Klima is better to visit it at sunset, at that time when the colorful houses take on a golden color. Do not be disappointed by the crowds that flock to the area. Somewhere you will find your own corner to take your photos. You can also stay in the area shortly after sunset, when the light is still playing with the Wires and the tourists have left. Also, keep in mind that some of these houses are for rent, but at high prices.

The island of Milos is a place where you can enjoy beautiful beaches, known and isolated. By renting the right boat from Poseidon Milos Boat Rental, you can enjoy daily excursions to the island. By renting a boat you will discover in Milos every idyllic part of our island.
