Voluntary Blood Drive at Milos Junior High School — April 2026
A vital act of community solidarity is taking place in Milos. The Municipality, in collaboration with the Tzaneio General Hospital, is organising a voluntary blood drive at the Milos Junior High School to strengthen the island's blood reserves for emergencies.
The Municipality of Milos has organised a voluntary blood donation event at the Milos Junior High School (Gymnasio), in collaboration with the Tzaneio General Hospital of Piraeus. The aim is to replenish the island's blood bank reserves — an essential resource for handling medical emergencies, particularly in an island community where hospital access can be affected by weather conditions.
Schedule update: The session originally planned for Friday 3 April was cancelled due to severe weather. The remaining sessions are:
- Saturday 4 April: 15:30 – 20:30
- Sunday 5 April: 09:30 – 14:30
Location: Milos Junior High School (Gymnasio), Milos.
What to bring: Your Identity Card and your AMKA (Social Security Number) are required to participate.
Blood donation takes less than 15 minutes and a single donation can save up to three lives. If you are on the island this weekend and are able to donate, we encourage you to take part in this important community initiative.
At Poseidon Milos, we are proud to be part of a community that pulls together when it matters. We share this information because Milos is more than a destination — it is a place with a strong, caring community at its heart. If you are visiting the island and would like to explore its coastline, our Milos boat rental service and Milos cruises are available daily from Adamas.
