Free Sterilisations for Stray Animals in Milos — 2–3 May 2026
As part of its ongoing stray animal management programme, the Municipality of Milos has announced a free sterilisation initiative taking place over the weekend of 2–3 May 2026. The procedures will be carried out by the veterinary team of Dr. Sotirios Bagias, with whom the Municipality has a formal working agreement.
Location: Municipal Veterinary Clinic, Gerakopetras, Milos.
Schedule:
- Saturday 2 May: 10:00 – until Sunday 3 May at 15:00
The Municipality is calling on all residents who care for stray animals, members of the island's animal welfare association, and volunteer animal lovers to come forward and bring as many animals as possible to be sterilised during this period. The goal is simple: to reduce the number of unsterilised strays on the island in a humane and organised way.
This is the kind of initiative that reflects what makes Milos a genuinely special place. Beyond its extraordinary beaches and dramatic coastline, it is a community that takes responsibility for the animals that share its streets and landscapes. At Poseidon Milos, we are proud to be part of that community — and to remind our guests that our boats are pet-friendly for those who want to explore the island's coastline with their four-legged companions.
If you would like to explore Milos by sea this season, our Milos cruises depart daily from Adamas and Agia Kyriaki Beach.
